Export compliance explained

What is ISPM-15?
ISPM-15 is the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15. It requires all wooden packaging used in international trade to be treated to eliminate pests and disease. Pallets must carry the IPPC mark to be accepted at border control.
Heat Treatment (HT)
Heat treatment (HT) involves heating timber to a core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 continuous minutes. This process kills insects, larvae, and pathogens without the use of chemicals, making it the preferred treatment method globally.
IPPC Stamp
The IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) stamp confirms that the pallet has been treated to ISPM-15 standards. It includes a country code, producer/treatment provider code, and treatment type — and is required for customs clearance in most countries.
